Arizona authorities have announced a major development in the investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the mother of television journalist Savannah Guthrie.

Law enforcement officials confirmed they have identified an individual who “may be connected to the suspected abduction.” They described this as “an important investigative step,” but emphasized that the case remains active and “no final conclusions have been reached.”

According to official statements, the individual has been named a person of interest while detectives continue reviewing surveillance footage, forensic evidence, digital records, and witness accounts. Authorities have not released the person’s identity, explaining that doing so could compromise the ongoing investigation and its integrity.
