The United States and Israel launched a large, coordinated military offensive against Iran known as “Operation Epic Fury.” The strikes followed warnings from President Donald Trump about possible U.S. intervention tied to unrest in Iran and nuclear negotiations.
President Trump confirmed Saturday that the U.S. is carrying out “major combat operations in Iran.” In a video posted on Truth Social, he said the objective is to defend Americans by eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime, which he described as “a vicious group of very hard, terrible people.”
In his message, Trump warned Iran’s leadership to “lay down” its weapons or “face certain death.” He called the moment their “only chance for generations” and urged the Iranian people to “take over your government” after the operation.
Israel confirmed it coordinated the daytime strikes with the United States and announced its own mission under the name “Operation Roaring Lion.” The action highlights close military coordination between the two allies.
The joint operation is expected to continue for several days. Officials told Fox News that Israel is targeting Iranian leadership, while U.S. forces are striking military infrastructure and ballistic missile sites considered an “imminent threat.”
