Pat Finn, a familiar and warmly regarded actor, has died at 60. Family members shared that he passed away peacefully at his Los Angeles home, surrounded by loved ones. A native of Illinois, Finn had quietly battled cancer for several years, keeping his health struggles private while remaining close to family and friends. Tributes across the entertainment industry highlighted that he was “deeply respected as both an actor and a person.”

Many remember Finn for his recurring role as Bill Norwood on the ABC sitcom *The Middle*, appearing from 2011 to 2018. Playing a friendly neighbor, he brought “warmth and humor” to the show, complementing leads Patricia Heaton and Neil Flynn and adding depth to its depiction of everyday family life.

Beyond *The Middle*, Finn had an extensive television career, appearing on *Friends*, *Seinfeld*, *Murphy Brown*, *3rd Rock from the Sun*, *Ed*, and *The George Wendt Show*. Known for his versatility, he often took supporting roles that “nonetheless stood out,” making him a recognizable and reliable presence across network TV.

Born and raised in Wilmette, Illinois, Finn graduated from Marquette University in 1987, where he became close friends with comedian Chris Farley. Sharing a dorm room and a rugby team spot, their friendship fostered a shared love of comedy. After college, Finn joined The Second City National Touring Company, refining his improvisation skills and laying the foundation for his television career.

His film work included *The Bachelor*, *Dude, Where’s My Car?*, *How High*, and *I Love You, Beth Cooper*. His final role was in the 2021 romantic comedy *Funny Thing About Love*. Across TV and film, Finn brought “sincerity and humor to every performance,” leaving a body of work that audiences continue to enjoy.

Finn is survived by his wife, Donna, and their two children, Cassidy and Caitlin. Friends and colleagues remembered him as generous, kind, and genuinely funny, noting that his greatest legacy lies not only in his performances but in the positive impact he had on those around him.
