Slice pool noodles into rings and wrap them with string lights. You’ll see why everyone’s obsessed with this one.

Pool noodle ring lights have become popular because they’re “cheap, lightweight, and surprisingly stylish.” A simple foam noodle can be turned into décor that looks high-end without the cost. With just a few dollars, you can create multiple glowing rings that mimic boutique designs.

They’re also very easy to handle. Since pool noodles are “feather-light,” they can be hung almost anywhere—ceilings, trees, walls, or patios—without heavy tools. The process is beginner-friendly: “if you can slice foam and wrap string lights, you have the skills.”

To start, gather pool noodles, LED string lights, a sharp knife, and something to secure them like tape or zip ties. You can also add decorations like ribbon, flowers, or paint for a personal touch. These small additions can completely change the final look.

Cut the noodle into 1–3 inch slices to form rings, keeping them even for a clean shape. If needed, adjust or reshape them. For bigger designs, you can modify the noodle into a full loop. Then wrap the lights around each ring—loosely for a soft sparkle or tightly for a stronger glow—and secure the ends.

Display ideas are flexible and creative. You can hang them in clusters, line pathways, or create floating “halo” effects. LED lights are ideal because “they stay cool and are safe for foam,” unlike other bulbs that may overheat. In the end, these rings offer more than decoration—they create a warm atmosphere and deliver a “luxurious” feel on a small budget.
