While staying at an Airbnb, a harmless-looking blinking light on the smoke detector caught the narrator’s wife’s attention. Curious, he climbed up to inspect it and was shocked to see what appeared to be a hidden camera lens inside. Without taking any chances, the couple quickly packed their belongings and left the rental, driving two towns away before stopping at a 24-hour diner. There, still shaken, the narrator posted an angry review to warn future guests.

The host responded almost immediately, but their message made the situation even more frightening.
