A $1 Million Win Highlights a Memorable ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Puzzle

A standout moment aired on Wheel of Fortune when Christina Derevjanik from Connecticut achieved one of the show’s rarest feats: a $1 million win. Her calm, fast gameplay placed her among a very small group of contestants to ever reach seven figures.

During the main game, Derevjanik secured the Million Dollar Wedge and kept it through to the bonus round. Before spinning the final wheel, she joked about possibly leaving her marketing job if luck went her way, a comment that soon felt prophetic.

The bonus round category was “Living Things.” After the standard letters appeared, she chose M, C, F, and A. With just enough revealed, the puzzle quickly came into focus as the clock began to tick down.

She solved it almost instantly, answering “Pack of coyotes.” The studio erupted as host Ryan Seacrest revealed the prize. Derevjanik jumped with joy, then broke into tears as confetti fell. She embraced Seacrest and co-host Vanna White, overwhelmed by the moment.

By the end of the night, her total reached $1,035,155, the largest single prize in the show’s history and the first million-dollar win of Seacrest’s hosting era. Derevjanik said the money would help her pay off student loans, buy a home, and clear debt. Fans praised her composure, calling the win one of the most unforgettable moments the show has ever seen.
