Every Woman My Widowed Father Dated Vanished Overnight After One Dinner, Until My Best Friend Went Out With Him and Helped Me Discover Who Was Secretly Watching Them

The sixth woman disappeared the morning after telling my father she wanted to see him again. My name is Lola, and after losing my mother, I had watched Dad spend twelve lonely years alone. When he finally joined a dating app, I was happy for him. But every woman he met suddenly stopped responding the next morning. Dad began to think something was wrong with him and slowly gave up on dating.

I wanted to know what was happening, so I asked my best friend Rachel to go on a date with him. She agreed and later told me Dad had been funny, respectful, and completely normal. She even planned another dinner with him. But the next morning, she sent me a frightening message: “Don’t contact me. Please.” When we met, she showed me anonymous messages containing a photo of her leaving the restaurant with Dad. The sender knew her address, workplace, and a private family secret.

Dad checked his security cameras, and we saw a hooded person watching his house on the same evening as Rachel’s date. Then I noticed the stranger’s distinctive white sneakers. I recognized them from an old family photo.

The shoes belonged to Sabrina, my late mother’s younger sister. When I confronted her, she confessed. Sabrina had been secretly following Dad’s dates, researching the women, and frightening them away. She believed she was protecting my mother’s memory and that no woman should replace her. But her grief had turned into control, hurting innocent people in the process.

Rachel reported the threats, and Dad provided the camera footage. Sabrina accepted responsibility and agreed to counseling. Dad still blamed himself for trying to move on, but I reminded him that loving Mom did not mean he had to remain alone forever.

Months later, Dad met Jocelyn. This time, the woman didn’t disappear. After their third date, Dad called me while music played in the background, and I heard him laughing. For the first time since Mom died, he was no longer trapped in the past. He was finally allowing himself to start again.
