Iran issues ominous assassination threat to Donald Trump

Tensions between Iran and the United States have escalated after Iranian officials issued a direct threat toward U.S. President Donald Trump during the ongoing Middle East conflict. The warning came after Trump posted a message on Truth Social threatening severe retaliation if Iran attempted to block oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.

The statement from Iran was delivered by Ali Ardashir Larijani, secretary of the Supreme National Security Council. Responding to Trump’s comments, he warned that Iran would not be intimidated. He said, **“The Ashura nation of Iran is not afraid of your empty threats. Even those greater than you could not eliminate the Iranian nation. Be careful not to be eliminated!”** The message was officially signed by the Supreme National Security Council in Tehran.

Trump’s earlier post focused on protecting global oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital energy route where roughly 20% of the world’s oil supply passes. In his message, he warned Iran against interfering with the shipping lane, writing: **“If Iran does anything that stops the flow of Oil within the Strait of Hormuz, they will be hit by the United States of America TWENTY TIMES HARDER than they have been hit thus far.”**

The exchange comes amid escalating military tensions in the region. According to reports, joint U.S. and Israeli strikes targeted locations in Iran earlier in the conflict, which Iranian officials say led to the death of their leader. In response, Iran has carried out attacks across parts of the Middle East as the fighting continues.

The situation has also affected global energy markets. Oil prices surged as high as $119 per barrel before falling back to around $90 as investors reacted to the rising tensions and the risk of disruption in the Strait of Hormuz.

With the conflict ongoing, the sharp exchange of threats between Washington and Tehran has raised concerns about regional stability and the security of global oil supplies. Observers warn that further escalation could have significant geopolitical and economic consequences worldwide.
