The Easy Oven-Cleaning Method Nana Swore By

Cleaning an oven is a task many people postpone, but “Nana’s simple trick turns it into an easy, low-effort task.” Instead of harsh chemicals or long scrubbing sessions, this method uses just three items: a dishwashing pod, a heatproof casserole dish, and water.

Start by preheating the oven to 200°F (93°C). Fill the dish with water, add a pod, and place it on the middle rack. Let it heat for about an hour. As it steams, “the pod releases cleaning agents and enzymes that loosen stubborn grease, baked-on spills, and sticky residue.” The warm moisture softens grime, making it easier to remove.

After an hour, turn off the oven and allow it to cool slightly. Then wipe the interior with a damp cloth. In most cases, residue comes off easily because of the steam. For tougher spots, repeat the process or use a soft brush for light scrubbing.

This method avoids strong chemical odors and is a practical option for homes with children or pets. It also relies on common household items, making it affordable and convenient. Using it monthly can help prevent grease buildup, improve performance, and lower fire risk.

“Nana’s approach proves that effective cleaning doesn’t have to be complicated.” By letting heat and steam do most of the work, you save time and effort while keeping your oven fresh and clean.
