Tyler Reddick addresses Michael Jordan’s interaction with his child at NASCAR race after huge backlash

Tyler Reddick has responded to online reactions about a moment involving Michael Jordan and Reddick’s six-year-old son, Beau, following their Daytona 500 victory. Jordan, co-owner of 23XI Racing, was celebrating with the family when a brief interaction sparked debate on social media.

During the celebration, Jordan was seen making small pinching motions toward the back of Beau’s damp T-shirt and lightly brushing the back of his legs. Some users questioned the gestures, though there was no indication of inappropriate behavior. The clip spread quickly, leading to mixed opinions and speculation online.

After the race, Reddick addressed the situation during an appearance on Stephen A. Smith’s SiriusXM radio show. He said he saw nothing wrong with the moment and emphasized his familiarity with Jordan and his family. “From my perspective, I’ve gotten to know Michael and his family very well over the years,” Reddick said. “I don’t see what other people see when it comes to this.”

Reddick stressed that the focus of the day was celebrating a major career milestone. Winning the Daytona 500, often called “The Great American Race,” marked the biggest achievement of his career and a special moment for both families. He said he preferred to remember the joy of the victory rather than the online controversy.

He also noted the happiness of everyone present, including Jordan’s wife, Yvette, and said the shared excitement in victory lane mattered far more than social media reactions. For Reddick, the moment was about pride, family, and teamwork.

Ultimately, Reddick dismissed the speculation and chose to focus on what truly mattered: a career-defining win and a meaningful celebration with those closest to him.
