Users Say These Angelic Twins Looked ‘Cuter’ as Kids—What Happened to Them after They Briefly Disappeared from the Limelight?

Dylan Sprouse and Cole Sprouse grew up in front of the public eye, transforming from adorable child stars into confident adults with their own paths. Once known for their identical blonde hair and bright smiles, the twins eventually developed distinct personalities and careers while navigating years of fame.

Their rise began around ages 6–7 with roles in Big Daddy and the TV sitcom Friends. Audiences loved their charm and matching looks, and their appearances at events like the premiere of The Waterboy highlighted the image that made them famous—two cheerful boys with “identical charm” and innocent smiles.

Between ages 8 and 11, they continued acting in television and voice roles. Although they still appeared nearly identical, small differences in their features began to show. To fans, however, they were still mostly seen as a duo and remained recognizable icons of childhood TV.

Their biggest fame arrived between ages 12 and 15 with Disney’s hit series The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Behind the scenes, fame wasn’t always easy. Their co-star Kim Rhodes once shared a difficult moment when Dylan was publicly criticized by a Disney executive, an experience that pushed the twins to start forming stronger individual identities.

From 16 to 21, the brothers stepped away from Hollywood and enrolled at New York University. Dylan studied game design, while Cole focused on archaeology. The break helped them grow outside the spotlight.

By their late twenties, they had reinvented themselves. Cole gained major attention starring in Riverdale, while Dylan explored voice work, business, and fashion. Their story shows that early fame doesn’t have to define a lifetime—“resilience and reinvention can.”
